Institute overview
The African Institute for Sustainable Development (IADD) was created in response to the major governance challenges in Africa, which limit sustainable and inclusive development. Despite its wealth of natural and human resources, ineffective governance practices are holding back the continent's socio-economic development. IADD aims to transform these obstacles into opportunities through training, research and inter-regional exchanges, strengthening the capacities of political decision-makers. By promoting transparent policies, accountable management and citizen participation, IADD aims to unleash Africa's potential and catalyze sustainable socio-economic progress for the continent.
Strategic priorities
IADD takes a multi-dimensional approach to the challenges of sustainable development, integrating research, knowledge sharing, collaboration and capacity building.
Areas of intervention
Short-term training
IADD offers short training courses (maximum 3 months) on various themes. The aim is to equip participants with practical tools they can use to actively contribute to the continent's sustainable development.
